OLD AND NEW
Initially it sure spent a lot of time like this.
Debugging wiring can be rough but not bad if you've got the manuals. And an oscilloscope. And a basic idea of what current is supposed to do.
Oops, hillclimb in the Snow on Bogus Basin. In May.
This happened on a right hand sweeper at ~70+mph. It made handing a little lively. And I needed new pants. Saved it, though.
This was a happy day.
This was even better.
We coated the entire exhuast sywstem with a spray-opn Ti coating. It's nearly indestructable.
This wasn't as hard to accomplish as you might think. I now own this hoist.
Found massive previous damage when I pulled the motor apart. We are guessing it threw a rod. Such is life.
Replaced all the oil pan bolts with studs and a silicone gasket. No Leaks!
Putting in new double shielded flappy bearings. I now own a press.
With 5 days to go before SITM 2009, I had a lot of work to do.
Unfortunately, upon startup, the passenger side cam seal decided to tear. Since I had installed it about 2 months prior, I have no idea what I did wrong. I later picked up a new seal at SITM.
Here it is, installed and done! The color looks even better in person.
